About the Campaign

Go Beyond Grades Beloit is an awareness campaign designed to help families and educators work together in support of student success.

Across the country, research shows that families want to support their children’s learning but often don’t have clear information about whether their child is on track academically. In Wisconsin, about 88% of parents believe their child is at or above grade level in reading and 84% believe the same in math. At the same time, data on student achievement show that far fewer students are actually meeting grade-level expectations.

One reason for this gap is that report card grades – while important – don’t always tell the full story about grade-level achievement. Teachers say one of the best ways for families to understand how their child is doing is ongoing communication with the child’s teacher.

Go Beyond Grades Beloit is designed to help make those conversations easier. Through this campaign, families and educators can access free tips, tools, and resources that support strong partnerships around student learning.

A National Campaign with Local Focus

Go Beyond Grades is an initiative of Learning Heroes, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the relationship between families and schools so that every child can succeed.

Since 2023, Learning Heroes has launched Go Beyond Grades campaigns in communities across the country. These campaigns combine research, local student achievement data, and evidence-based tools to support families as they partner with educators on behalf of student learning.

In Beloit, the campaign is tailored to local priorities and designed to support ongoing efforts to strengthen student achievement and family-school partnerships.

Support for the Campaign

Go Beyond Grades Beloit is supported by philanthropic funding from the Hendricks Family Foundation and the Oak Foundation, which supports the campaign’s resources related to students with learning differences.
